I know I am horrible about posting here but life just has a way of getting so hectic. Things have been good, though. I turned 32 last week. Not too traumatic :). Monday was my actual birthday and my friends at work had a cake for me and decorated my cubicle, which was nice. I went out to celebrate Tuesday night with some friends. I'd won 6 passes to the advance screening of "Babel" so five of my friends and I went out to eat at a yummy Cuban restaurant and then saw the movie. It was a really great movie, too. My only complaint was that I was expecting Gael Garcia Bernal to have more screen time than he actually did. But it was really more of an ensemble cast and it was so well-acted, I think it could definitely be a contender for the Oscars. Definitely deep and thought-provoking.
And at the completely opposite end of the spectrum from deep and thought-provoking, tonight I saw "Borat". It was hands-down one of the funniest movies ever. I laughed so hard I was crying.
I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving. And in just a little over 5 weeks I will be in Nicaragua! :) I can't wait to spend Christmas at the orphanage and also get to visit my best friends. Some things will be different this time. My best friend and her husband are no longer together, which is a sad thing; there will be a new director at the orphanage; and also several new kids who I haven't met who have arrived since my last trip. And there will be lots of familiar faces. I can't wait to see everyone again!
